What
is the Infant Adoption Awareness Training Program?
The Infant Adoption Training Initiative is funded
by a grant from the US Department of Health and
Human Services. Our Understanding Infant Adoption
training program is designed to help health care
professionals serving pregnant women and teens
discuss adoption as an option with patients and
clients who are not sure that they want to parent
the child.
Who
can attend?
You are eligible to attend if you are staff (nurses,
social workers, technicians, physicians, etc.)
employed by: Public health departments, public
hospitals, nonprofit hospitals, MSS/ISS Programs
affiliated with public health departments or private,
nonprofit agencies Nonprofit clinics, e.g. Planned
Parenthood Agencies, Teen Health Centers, school
based Health clinics (public and private schools)
or if you are a health care professional that
interacts with pregnant women
How
much does it cost?
There is no cost to attend the IATI training.
There is no registration fee or fee for CEU certificates.

Can
I get contact hours for this training?
The one day curriculum is approved for 5.6 contact
hours and the two day curriculum is approved for
11 contact hours by the Michigan Nurses Association
which is accredited as an approver of continuing
education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center Commission on Accreditation.
Can
I get CEU's for this training?
This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Michigan Nursing Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Spaulding for Children, provider # 1146, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Spaulding for Children maintains responsibility for the program.
